As an experienced teacher, safeguarding lead and special needs co-ordinator (assistant headteacher) I can offer advice and guidance on a range of topics:

• Education, health and social care plans (EHCPs)

• Disability living allowance applications (DLA)

• Home education recommendations and advice

• Literacy observations and follow up recommendations at school

• Screener tests for specific areas of need (not a formal diagnosis)

• Advice about what dyslexia means and the support available

• Parenting support for children with additional needs

I am not a qualified lawyer or medical professional therefore all advice given is informal with the exception of a dyslexia diagnosis resulting from a full dyslexia assessment which is a formal diagnosis accredited by a professional body.
